Creating jobs, strengthening communities
Thornhill, December 18 —Peter Kent, Member of Parliament for Thornhill, is encouraging employers and not-for-profit organizations to apply for funding through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program.
The CSJ program helps employers create valuable summer job opportunities for youth between the ages of 15 and 30. CSJ will help Thornhill youth to make a successful transition to the workplace, and at the same time acquire the skills they need to support businesses in the community to grow.
On December 17, 2017, the Government of Canada launched the application period for CSJ 2019 funding. The application period will be open until January 25, 2019.
“Like you, I believe that there should be no barriers imposed on young Canadians to enter the labour market. I know that the revised attestation this year will re-open doors for organizations that were subjected to a restrictive test of their Charter values and excluded from funding in Summer 2018.”
On January 8th 2019, I invite you to join me at the Constituency Office located at 7378 Yonge St. Thornhill, Unit 41 B, from 10 am – 11am to attend an information session on CSJ. Staff will also be available to assist you in preparing your application.
I encourage you to contact our constituency office at 905-886-9911 should you require support with your application.
